Desks for Asheten School – financiation through revenues of Christmas Bazar at „Grund- und Mittelschule Allershausen“

The school did donate in total 4003 Euro, revenues of their Christmas Bazar and we did deliver 50 school desks for the Asheten School at mountainside of Lalibela. 550 exercise books, 500 pencils and some footballs have been distributed and there was Injera with shiro for feast. Furthermore we opened up our „Fikire Library“ at Asheten School after having done so at Koyita School in july 2018. Many thanksgiving to „Art of Buna e.V.“ Cologne donating us the ethiopian books fort he library! Teachers and pupils of Asheten School were very happy about the urgently needed school desks and it has been told countless times about gratefulness for  help and support. We had once again a memorable day in the mountains at Lalibela and again it was possibel to improve learning conditions on a sustained level.

Books for Lalibela – Fikire Library@Koyita and Asheten School

Great Thanks concerning the generous books donation of our cooperation partner „Art of Buna e.V.“ Cologne! We`ve been able to go for three different acts within our project >Books for Lalibela< during our current stay in Lalibela. Overall we were able to pass on 90 ethiopian children`s books. So now Asheten School at mountainside of Lalibela has a >Fikire Library< too. Teaching there goes from 1st to 8th class, two shifts a day, morning time and afternoon. The teacher at place are very enthusiastic about the service of these nice ethiopian children`s books,broad and comprehensive about age. Children did have the very first time in their lives such kind of amharic books in hand – stunning was amazing! Some books are colorfull and nicely illustrated. We gave all the books into the small library. At Koyita School it was possibel to fill up the already existing >Fikire Library< with „Tief im Äthiopischen Dschungel“ a fable from Fitsame Teferra and also with her learning book  „ My first book of amharic words“. At the side of director Aleme Mentesnot is coming up currently a new college with female teacher only. All of them were fully inspired of the new books. Especially about „My first book of amharic words“- the colorfull and imaginativ illustrations and learn intensive method within. The teachers are giving great thanks for the support of their lessons and teaching! At least fortunately it was possibel to pass on the fable „Tief im Äthiopischen Dschungel“ to some of our kids in sponsorship who are interested in reading. Stunning of the kids was amazing! With happiness we noticed there is change and movement in particular ways through all these ethiopian children`s literature for teachers as well as for pupils and all kids! In any case reading these books loud together at school makes a real lot of fun!
